23 productions receive $8.1M under Francophone Minority Program

Toronto, June 24, 2016 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced that 23 convergent projects have been awarded $8.1M in funding as part of the first round of financing under the Francophone Minority Program. This program supports productions which reflect the realities of living in French-language communities outside Québec. The CMF has provided $67.3M in funding to 197 projects in the program since 2010.

Canadian audiences will have a chance to enjoy these new productions created for television and digital media from many different regions of the country: two productions from British Columbia, four from Manitoba, two from Nova Scotia, one from Newfoundland and Labrador, six from New Brunswick and eight from Ontario. There will be 16 documentaries, five children’s and youth productions, and two variety and performing arts projects.
