International incentives

The CMF is part of Canada’s strong funding ecosystem that fosters audiovisual content creation and encourages international coproduction.

Together, Canada’s coproduction treaties and the CMF’s financing provide opportunities for Canadian producers and their international counterparts to share resources and talent to tap into new markets. As consumers have growing access to content from all corners of the world, producers can benefit greatly from working together on the international front.

Current Incentives

The international coproduction and codevelopment incentives support innovative solutions to encourage the coproduction and codevelopment of content.

Below is a list of agreements for this fiscal year signed to date, with new international partnerships being announced throughout the year.

Applicants will be permitted to apply via Dialogue generally 10 days in advance of the Program’s Closing Date.

The Canada-Germany Digital Media Incentive is a collaboration between the Canada Media Fund and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH to create a joint program that encourages co-development and/or co-production of eligible digital media projects.
