Canada-Ireland projects receive over $78K in funding

Toronto/Dublin, November 23, 2018 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) announced today an investment of over CAD$78,000 to support the co-development of audiovisual content under the Canada-Ireland Codevelopment Incentive for Audio-Visual Projects.

Two Canadian production companies will work with two Irish companies in the development of the following projects.

Title Canadian Applicant Irish Applicant Project Type Stage CMF $ BAI $ (approx.)
From Ireland to the Arctic Grandboy Inc. Loosehorse Ltd. Doc series Dev $9,257 $17,690
Lullaby Rezolution Pictures Int. Inc. Subotica Documentary Dev $21,429 $30,000

To be eligible for funding, the selected projects were required to be intended for broadcast by eligible Canadian and Irish broadcasters, involving at least one Canadian producer and one Irish producer. The incentive funds television projects and digital media extensions of such television projects, which fulfill both the guidelines of the CMF and the objectives and themes of BAI’s Sound and Vision Scheme. Projects were evaluated and chosen by a selection committee composed of representatives from both funding organizations.

Producers interested in applying to receive funding through this incentive are advised that guidelines for the program, which will reopen for a fourth consecutive year, will be announced in mid-April 2019. The deadline to apply will be at the end of June 2019.
