CMF invests $7.1M in 10 innovative digital media projects
Toronto, December 10, 2019 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today that 10 innovative digital media projects will receive a total of $7.1M in funding through the second round of financing of its Experimental Stream’s Innovation – Production Program.
A jury of Canadian and international industry specialists evaluated the projects submitted for production support through the Experimental Stream’s Innovation Program. This round’s jury consisted of Pierre-Mathieu Fortin (Montréal), Domenico La Porta (Liège), Tina Merry (Vancouver), Nadia Seraiocco (Montréal), Salar Shahna (Geneva) and Sarah Ellis (Birmingham). Audiences will have access to a variety of new digital content including seven games and three software applications.
The Experimental Stream’s Innovation Program encourages the creation of interactive digital media content and software applications. Including this round of funding, the CMF has invested close to $250M in the production of over 400 innovative projects since 2010.
